What Deltona Can Actually Control
Deltona has direct emergency-management, continuity, communications, infrastructure, and contracting responsibilities while coordinating with County, state, utilities, and public-safety partners.
My Current Commitment
I will treat emergency readiness as year-round work and ask whether plans, contracts, infrastructure, backup systems, and communications are actually ready before a storm arrives.
Proposed Actions
- Review emergency plans and after-action reports.
- Track debris-removal and emergency-contract readiness.
- Improve resident communications before and after major storms.
- Prioritize resilience projects with repeated failure history.
Research Still Needed
Emergency plans, after-action reports, debris contracts, generator/backup systems, vulnerable-population coordination, and resilience grants.
